[rs=2] | Hi there, I'm Noelle. Noelle Joleigh Reeves. I was born 21 years ago in Sydney, Australia. I've been here a year now since my mom married the man she fell in love with 'oh so terribly' as she puts it. I suppose i'll take you back in tie from the begiinning. I'm not that interesting, so I understand if you want to just skip to the end. My father, Mark, was a fisherman who sailed to different areas of the ocean, searching for th best fish to sell in the markets. He planned on living that way til the end until he caught and reeled my mom in. Literally. He'd been in the harbor fishing one day that he was awaiting his crew men to come back from the shops when his hook got caught on something which was followed by a scream. And what a catch she seemed to be. Her name was Lilian Geneva Reeves. I couldn't believe mum when she told me that she'd only known him for few hours before her heart was taken. That same night they got to work on me, which, was never able to even see this "Mark' sailer because he left the next day, claming he would think of Lilian everyday that he was at see. It was really all just a load of bullshit. She was probably just one woman of many he conquered around the world during his travels. At the beginning, i'd been shocked that my mum had allowed herself to fall so quickly. But, now, I can't help but not think anything of it. She always came home, claiming she was in love with these men who called her beauitful and treated her like a queen. This was most of my childhood. I suppose it was because of all the heartbreak I witnessed mum going through that I gave up on the imfamous 'prince charming'. Mum was the best, though. She did everything and anything she could for me, always there by my side when I needed it most. She was my best friend through everything. It was because of her that I found my dream. This was about seven years ago, I think..I was around fourteen or fifteen...maybe even sixteen..oh it doesn't matter! Well, she was on a date with one of her boyfriends and she asked me to tag along. I had declined at first but because she was so persistent for me to have a playdatw with the man's daughter, I went. As harsh as it may sound, I managed to escape the yapping girl. I am a pretty lenient girl, but this little sheila just went on and on about how my mother would never be like hers and how her father only came after mum because she was a 'looker'. I didn't like being angry nor did I want to make a little girl cry, so I got away before I said anything. I was walking towards the ice cream stand to see what I could buy with the money I managed to scavage out of my pockets, when I passed the dolphin's tank entrace. Other kids seemed so excited about it and I wanted to know why, so I scurried inside right behind them. In an instant I was in love. The dolphins, as I read, had been rescued and brought to the aquarium a few years before. With my hand on the glass, I knew where I wanted to be. From then on, I began to search online and read books about dolphins. It didn't just stop there, though. I'd always loved animals and seeing the dolphins that had been rescued made me realize how much I would love to be the one to rescue them. I was going to be a veterinarian. Mum's boyfriends came less frequently as the months went by and she began to tell me that she wanted to find someone she could really settle down yet. Since I was in high school and the fathest I had ever gone with a boy was an awkward make out attempt behind the school gym, I had no idea how to help. So like always, I just sat with her and told her that her prince would come in time. To my surprise, he did. I had no idea how it even happened, but it did. Some tourist had asked her to help him find his way and she showed him where he was wanting to go. If I could remember the cheesy pick-up line he gave mum to win her heart I would tell you, but there was so many she fell for, I can't remember which went what what guy. Now, I'm here. We moved here not too long ago to be with Gerald, my new step-dad. He is a pretty nice guy, not like the rest. Mum seems really happy, so I am too. I just hope this is the real deal for her. I can't imagine what she will go through if it isn't. I'm studying to be a veterinarian at the university in town and will hopefully be starting the real courses this following fall since I just got my associates. And score! I was able to snag a job at the nearby aquarium as a dolphin trainer after some different sessions of learning what to do. So far, even though I had to leave a lot of friends, I'm happy I came to America. |
